DESIGN IS A FAMILY TRADITION
I am a fourth-generation designer/builder dating back to my great grandfather Samuel (Shlomo) Barsky who constructed numerous properties in Tel Aviv, Israel, including the 1910 Mani House (Beit Mani) in the Ahuzat Bayit neighborhood, the forerunner of the city of Tel Aviv. The Mani House was one of the first buildings erected in what became Tel Aviv.
Beit Mani is constructed of limestone unique to the building style of the age and was the norm in Jaffa during those years, with elements cast in concrete, coarse sand blocks, and stylized ironwork.
In 1986 house was purchased and restored by Bank Leumi, and now serves as a visitors’ center and art center on Yehuda Halevi Street, Tel Aviv.
