I am a fourth-generation designer/builder dating back to my great grandfather Samuel (Shlomo) Barsky who constructed numerous properties in Tel Aviv, Israel (read more about Samuel and my architecture design heritage). As a child, my enduring love for Spanish Architecture Design (both Colonial Revival and Modern) was sparked by the numerous examples of this design style surrounding me in Los Angeles, California. My adolescence and young adult life in Palm Springs, California, solidified my true inspiration and love for all things mid-century modern.
PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY
After graduating with a B.A. from University of Colorado, Boulder, I started my career as a technical drawing/illustrator for an aerospace architecture/engineering company in Los Angeles, working with Boeing Aircraft, Lockheed Martin, U.S. Department of Defense, Atomic Energy, and NASA.
A few years later I started Sundance Pools, a high-end swimming pool, spa and water feature design and construction company servicing the Bel Air, Holmby Hills, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood Hills areas of Los Angeles. Over the following 18 years, I gained extensive design knowledge and construction management expertise. Clients include Jay Leno, Madonna, Carole King and U.S. Congresswoman Jane Harman.
After selling Sundance in 2010, I relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area and invested myself completely in the design side of the industry as a decorative lighting designer for both residential and commercial clients. My most memorable project was working with United Airlines Corporation, creating lighting solutions for all customer lounges at both San Francisco (SFO) and Los Angeles (LAX) international airports.
Then I moved on to Bedrosians Tile and Stone, a national leader in residential and commercial building products, where I thrived as a kitchen, bathroom, flooring and exterior hardscape designer.
the advent of BRYAN FINK DESIGN
In 2021 I decided to strike out on my own once more. My extensive design background and my on-going desire to create lasting aesthetic value make for a well-rounded, effective approach to architecture design and is the foundation for Bryan Fink Design.
